Privacy Policy
Who we are
JI RYK Digital App (“we”) is a community-based social app for members. People follow the latest updates, highlight issues that affect society, and use the blood-donor platform so they can contribute and support the community. A book bank is planned so members can share books the same way. The app also includes programs, a member directory, and community complaints. The data controller is JI RYK Digital App. Questions: use the contact options on https://jiryk.org/.
Information we collect
- Account and profile: name, CNIC, mobile number, email, role, address, tehsil/place, profession, education, blood group, and similar membership fields you or an administrator provide.
- Location: precise location while you are using the app, when you sign in and when you choose to set a map pin on your profile. The app does not access location in the background.
- Photos and files: profile photo, complaint images, daily-report or financial-aid receipts, and other files you upload.
- Activity you submit: programs you view, complaints and comments, daily reports, financial-aid records, and notification receipts.
- Device tokens: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send community and Azaan-related notifications you enable.
- App and language settings stored on the device (English/Urdu, light/dark theme).
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate members, show public or member-only community content, operate complaints and reports, match blood donors, display maps, send the notifications you enable, and keep community records. We do not sell personal information. Access inside the community is limited to roles that need it (for example, complaint assignees or financial-aid reviewers).
Sharing
Public catalog items (for example public programs, public complaints, or public donor/member rows) are visible to guests. Private items are visible only to signed-in members or the people assigned to them. We use infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf: our website host, Google (Maps SDK and Firebase Cloud Messaging), and, when configured, SMS or WhatsApp delivery for one-time passwords. Those providers process data only to provide their service.
Precise location
The app requests precise location only while you are using it. It does not access location in the background. Precise location is required when you sign in, so we can store the sign-in place on your member account. You may also choose to set a map pin on your profile. Those coordinates are linked to your account: the latest position is stored on your membership record, and each sign-in is kept in a login log. We do not sell location data.
Government identifiers (CNIC)
We collect National Identity Card (CNIC) numbers only for membership verification and fraud prevention. Your CNIC is your account username. It is sent to jiryk.org over HTTPS and stored in the membership database. Organisation staff who operate accounts can see it. Other people can see it on your profile unless you turn on Hide my contact in the app. We do not sell CNIC numbers.
Financial-aid receipts
Financial-aid amounts and receipt files are stored for community records. They are visible to reviewers who handle those cases. They are not sold and they are not shown as public catalog content.
Retention and your choices
Account and community records are kept while your membership or the related case is active, and as required for community records. You can update most profile fields in the app. You may hide contact details from other members. You can disable Azaan alerts.
Request account deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
- In the app: open Settings and tap Delete account. That opens https://jiryk.org/delete-account.
- On the web: open https://jiryk.org/delete-account and follow the request steps on that page.
We verify the request against your membership record and complete it within 30 days. When we complete a request we permanently delete from our primary records your account, contact details, CNIC username, profile photo, push token, and stored sign-in location, including the login log.
Where a community record is still needed, we may keep complaints, daily reports, and financial-aid records, with your name replaced by “Deleted member”, usually for up to 24 months or longer if the law or an open case requires it. We also keep a minimal log that the deletion request was received and completed.
Security
The app talks to jiryk.org over HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are stored in private app storage and are excluded from Android backup. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The app is for community members and guests. It is not directed at children under 13.
Child safety standards
We prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM), child exploitation, and abuse anywhere in the app. When we confirm a violation we remove the content, disable the account that posted it, and report the matter to law enforcement, including Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency cybercrime wing, and to any other authority the law requires.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
